Finishes

No work for ages then a week load comes along. That's the nature of supply teaching. I am not overkeen on it especially that phone call in the morning and then dashing off. But last week I had 41/2 days at the same school so it wasn't too bad.
So Winterberry button was left hanging ( or rather not hanging because haven't fixed the rings on the back yet!) But I have finished it as a wall hanging and I am rather pleased with it, chose navy blue fabric to bring out the lettering.

I have also finished a square I was doing for a stitching friend. I was pleased with that too and its now wending its way across the sea to the USA. I fished out a snowman to work on last night and can't find two of the threads I know I had them because they are the only two I have stitched with. Bet if I order two more they will turn up.! I have snowmen aplenty to stitch and will do those in between the Drawn thread game board SAL and other stuff. Two dolls are coming along nicely one for me and one for my daughter.

Fingerless gauntlets

I finished my fingerless gauntlets yesterday and I have been wearing them ever since. They are really soft and warm. They are made from UK alpaca yarn mixed with British Leicester wool. It is so soft. I bought the yarn and pattern from their stall at the knitting and stitching show in Harrogate and have not seen the pattern on their website.

It's a new year

I am never very good with new year celebrations. But this year we stayed up and watched Jools Holland's tv programme.
Christmas was quiet but good. And I wore my new trousers which were very comfortable. so shall make some more. I had some lovely gifts including a soft toy elephant which went with an adopt an elephant in Africa my daughter gave me. I had several other elephant pressies, a dragon and some ceramic cats.
I had been thinking what to make this year and decided to make the summer version of Holly and May from Magic Threads

This is my version of her and I have changed her hair since I originally made her. I am going to do the new version in shades of mauve and ofcourse Elizabeth wants one too.. My other main project for the year is a cross stitching SAL stitching The Drawn thread gameboard

I am quite a slow stitcher so I hope I can keep up with the others, it isn't a race but I don't want to get too far behind.

I have also got to do the finishing off for my snowmen cross stitch. It is going to be a wallhanging rather than a framed picture.
