Spring and Easter Snow!

Well its spring just and we woke up to a layer of snow. This weekend is also Easter. The wind is freezing so it feels much colder than the thermometer says.

I have been a bit slow with my SAL piece this week but I am pleased how its coming along.

This little thrush spends a lot of time in our garden and seems to enjoy sitting looking about. But I noticed today its holding up one of its feet a lot of the time. There is a blackbird that visits with the same problem.

My other pieces of work are coming along. I am pleased with the secret I am making and my Mother Nature tree will begin to take a bit more shape because John has made a base for her and I can begin stuffing her.

The trip to Birmingham was successful last week and I came home with some nice pieces of fabric and a couple of X stitch charts.

Waiting for Santa update

My SAL piece has been progressing quite well as have stitched in the day as well as in the evening. I seem to have come to a standstill on other sewing at the moment.
I am really pleased with how its coming along and you can actually see what it is now.

Since I have been home I have doing so much more housework and today sorted out the chaps that hog most of the sofa. Most of the house is either full of chaps that live with us, books, or sewing stash!

It's just as well we don't get many visitors!

It was a sport watching weekend for us and especially good to see both Manchester United and Chelsea to be dumped out the FA cup.
Then last night we watched James Toseland finish a very good 6th in the first race of the new
MotorGP season

James has swapped this year from World superbikes to motorgp.

The UK is gearing up for a big storm that hit Devon and Cornwall today although here we have sun at the moment.

Cats

I have finished the dangly cats and hung them up. I was pleased with how they turned out.
I bought the pattern in Harrogate at the stitching show. Its called Festive felines and is a Christmas tree ornament I adapted.

There are nine cats altogether and all the fabrics are different ones I had in my stash.

I have began my SAL snowman but I have not stitched very much of him

I am a slow stitcher and only really stitch for a couple of hours at night. On Sunday I didn't do much at all. We had visitors as it was Mothers' Day here in UK. Elizabeth brought me flowers, chocolates and some card making things and I was really pleased with it all. We wathed the football and Liverpool won so it was a nice day.

We woke up this morning to a covering of snow. Nothing too much but the wind is freezing. Its not expected to last long. There was a good selection of birds on the feeders though.
