The inscriptions on the oldest gravestones have completely worn away.
I like looking at gravestones. You can get a sense of families from the information. How some members live a long life but how so many do not make it beyond infancy.
Last year we did not make the trip to Cream o Galloway so this year it was a must. Our round trip was 15 miles as went via the sea shore.
The tide came in quite quickly so went did not spend much time paddling.
On our second full day went travelled to Kirkcudbright by bus. We visited Broughton House and gardens.
Our third day entailed a walk from Gatehouse to the site of the old Gatehouse Station some six miles away.
view of the Viaduct and Visitor Centre.
Gatehouse Station buildings now privately owned.
It's six miles back Biddle!
we actually did about 14 miles and we diverted and walked along the river.
We needed those long walks to work off some of the calories from the food we ate in the evenings!

Looks like a fun trip. The Broughton House garden photos are beautiful.
Glad to hear you had a wonderful holiday. TFS the pictures :) I love going to graveyards too. They can be quite interesting.
