Unseasonally warm

Last year we had summer at the end of April. This year at the end of March

Tia found some sun without venturing outside

I am home until after Easter so might get something other than planning and marking done.

City park

We have a new City Park. Some people think it is a waste of money but it is a whole lot of fun.

Yesterday was the official opening and we went along to join in. There are fountains and a space which fill with water and then drains away.

In the evening there was an aerial display and fireworks

Last week I had some lovely gifts for Mothering Sunday

very satisfying! I have added it to the compost in some of the pots.

We have bought two plants that produce red berries so the birds can feast next winter.

one is a climber

I have planted the sweet peas early this year

We are thinking about Haydn today who died on St Patrick's day 2004

Allotment news

John had a couple of days holiday this week. So on a sunny afternoon I popped down to the allotment with coffee and cereal bars. Biddle and Gardener Bunny came too.

Th garlic is taller than the ones at home, probably because it was planted first.

The cloches are warming up the earth

And the old bath
has been transformed. Scroll down link

I have collecting bits of thread

They are now hanging with the feeders for birds to use in their nests.

A few months ago I bought a magazine with this free gift

despite the instructions being very clear it took me ages to work out exactly what to do. ( I blame it on being left handed)
Basically it is figure of eights

I got there in the end.

I am ashamed t say grace's card is still not complete. Blame Tia and foreign language police series. I am.

Thanks for coming and leaving a comment.

It's March already

Where is the year going? Since the weather warmed up all kinds of things are sprouting in their pots.

The purple crocus were fully out
However the bumble bee did not wait around to have his photograph taken.

Tia did though. She was allowed a little outdoor treat as there were no other cats or birds about.

She found a teenie daffodil in bud.

By chance last week I found out that some ipod nanos might be faulty and have been recalled. Mine is one of them so it has been packed up and sent off.

Many thanks for all the comments last time. I think I replied to everyone who had an email contact.
