Blogoversary

I cannot believe that my first blog post was in November 2006. The first post just a note to say that I had taken the plunge. This November I have helped my sister start her own. I have had a lovely weekend, Angela is on her "Grand Tour" and has travelled from Skye to Birmingham, to Bradford, and now on to London and Kent.

It is several years since I saw my "little" and only sister. We are two years apart in age, most people realise we are sisters because we look quite a like but I am taller. We grew up having very different likes and dislikes, Angela enjoys cooking, gardening, spiders and the natural world in general, preferred boys toys. I was much more girly, sewing knitting, no interest in baking, scared stiff of spiders. I drove her mad singing on the way to school on several occasions.

We were meant to take photos while she was here but somehow never got around to it.

This one was taken at Libby's wedding. Libby and Steve came down on Saturday and we went to the Kashmir for a tasty curry.
Due to the amount of rain and visitors over the weekend the allotment has not progressed since my last update. Angela was impressed with what has been done so far. The council contractors have now cleared all of the neglected right up to the back of ours. It all looks very open and accessible now.

Moriarty and Trophy Mouse did not go off with Angela when she left on Monday morning. They will now be staying much longer. This might involve more knitting.

I have some more tutoring work in the new year so I will be able to feed the bank account for a while longer.

No creating this past seven days. I hope to busy at the weekend as tutoring is cancelled for Eid

Thanks for popping by and thanks if you leave a message. Hopefully I will be sorting out a blogoversary surprise. I shall choose from the commentors.

not a happy bunny , new jumpers and a swap

Well the allotment workers are not happy bunnies. They have toiled and toiled over the weeks to clear a patch of ground and have done very well.. When they arrived at the weekend they noticed a vast difference in the surrounding area.

The council has had contractors in to clear the plots beyond ours. peeved didn't come close. All those weeks scything away and people who take on new plots from now get that done for them. So John came back on Saturday most disheartened. But when I went down on Sunday I could see just how much he has achieved over the last few weeks.

Biddle and Gardener Bunny found a nice place to drink coffee and survey the work

Moriarty and Trophy Mouse may be leaving next weekend. My sister is coming to visit and taking them off to the next part of their tour. Moriarty is not keen to go. Can you guess why?

And I must admit they do look at home in their new togs all snuggled on the sofa.

My swap partner was more organized than me and my Christmas ornament arrived at the end of last week. Thank you Shari.

Mine is now finished and ready to be posted. I'll post up a photo when it arrives at its destination. As usual I want to keep it!

The tutoring is going well. A part from the fact that I am spending far too long planning each session

Looking forward to the week end

Thanks for dropping by

Nothing new to report on the allotment I did not go last weekend as I had been during the week. John worked Saturday and did not think he would get there on Sunday because of the rain but after lunch the sun came out and off he dashed.

I saw Mousey sitting in the bird feed tray stuffing his face happy as you like.

I have begun Grace's jumper, its a good job I know something about knitting because the 8 row pattern was wrong. There should be a little ridge where there is a knit row
but the pattern said purl so of course that row continued the stocking stitch. If you knit you'll know what I am talking about if you don't then it wont make much sense

It's turned quite chilly here but nowhere near as bad as last year when it hardly got above zero. We don't celebrate hallow e'en although i did find a few witches flitting about down stairs. An interesting point Sting has released a new album of traditional songs and one Soul bread harks back to the origins of trick or treat. centuries ago people would put out bread for the souls of the dead on All hallows eve. During this time there were many poor people with no food. They would knock on the door of the richer people and ask for the bread saying they would pray for the souls of the dead.

Eventually, just like Mothering Sunday and Christmas capitalism took it over and commercialised it.

I have got a bit more one to one tutoring. I really enjoy it. I am giving up Saturday mornings, there is quite a lot of work to do at home unpaid. So why do I think I have sold my soul for money in the bank? If you really know me you will know why!

Thanks for stopping by. It's nearly blogoversary, there may be a very small gift involved
