The last week of May

Last Saturday we went to Manchester for the day one of the places we visited was the John Rylands Library. It is a wonderful building

 Ceiling bosses

I like the way the old and new fit together
The card index system and a hint of the books. Photographs of the building is allowed but  not the exhibits.

On Tuesday it was my birthday and I had some lovely gifts and

 cards.
Including a set of Call the Midwife dvds,  The Jeff Wayne War of the Worlds CD ( I bought it originally as an LP way back in the "olden days' )

an elephant

and flowers.

out and about

Tia is not an outside puss
 But every now and again
She ventures forth. Now she thinks it is quite a good idea and cries to go out.
Jacco came on Sunday and because the weather wasn't too could we had a quick trip to the Raymond Street playing fields
He found a nice big ball

and I tried out the exercise equipment.

Three things

I had my hair cut.  I am really pleased with how it has turned out.

The first of our radishes.
Mother Nature number four is all but finished. She needs some ear rings.

Allotment update

John has been busy at the allotment
 We have radish
 Lettuce

 peas
potatoes all coming through.

The rhubarb is doing really well and we have had several desserts. I usually chop up the sticks into small lengths. Grate the rind of a couple of oranges over the rhubarb. Squeeze the juice of the oranges,  add a small a mount of sugar  and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes. The rhubarb should stay in nice chunks and not go all mushy. We then add sugar to taste and fat free yoghurt.

Biddle came to check that everything was in order and to sample the coffee and biscuits on offer
