This January

has to have been one of the most miserable weatherwise for a few years. It has been dominated by grey wet days with very little sun and no snow! Although itis meant to be cold tomorrow a big storm is predicted for Friday. I do not know how much more rain the UK can take.

However the robin has been visiting

We have had at least two blackbird and although he is facing the wrong way to see it this one has a black beak
The other one counted in the big bird count had the usual yellow beak.  We have had numerous sparrows at least two dozen for the count.

Last week

we were visited by a thrush
our first since the summer.

Tia decided purple mousey should guard her food
The last of the cat kibble was tidied up by the washing machine vibrations
something about this appealed to me.

Jaco's jacket was finally finished and posted off.
because he has a long body I had to make some adjustments. Luckily it fits him.

Tuesday 7 January 2014

A whole week has gone

already. The weather has been dreadful. Not so bad here but most of the rest of the country including the  places in Scotland where we go on holiday poor Dumfries and Galloway. And we thought it could be wet in the summer!

These are some of the presents I made for Christmas 2013

Fingerless mitts for my mum. She never mentioned whether she liked them or not!
 Scarf for my niece
 Bags for my sister
 and daughter
scarf for my daughter. Both scarves were knitted with ribbon yarn and once you get into it knits up really quickly.

I made some last minute decorations  there were from "free gifts"on the front o f craft magazines.

next week I must get back into the swing of things.
