Birthday weekend

On Sunday my favourite puppy Jaco came to visit. It was part of the birthday celebrations for Biddle and me.
We went for a walk in the park
The blossom is finally in bloom and everything looked very spring like in the warm sunshine.
Jaco needed a rest when he got home.

I had to open one of my presents early. A Liverpool shirt signed after the 6-0 thrashing of Newcastle. Elizabeth bid for it in a charity auction.

On the birthday morning we went to the allotment to plants some seeds and do a bit of weeding. Biddle and gardiner bunny were waiting for a cup of tea and biscuits.

Before we went I opened all my presents
Biddle Grace and Moriarty are looking forward to finishing off the cakes later on today.

bits and pieces

Some more hits of spring
 Some colour

and a hint of the hosta

This is what some people think of the green space beyond our wall. A place to dump rubbish. Last night some of the children set it all light and the fire-brigade were called.  Now there are bits of charred wood and soggie carpet spread over a large area.
My rhubarb dessert complete with low fat yoghurt and honey.

For those of you that love bunnies and hares head across to Soggibottom where there is a brilliant give away

Planting and harvesting

I repotted the tomatoes
 Transplanted some pea plants
 Harvested some lettuce and radish
and roasted some rhubarb. It took longer to cook than it should have done because they were rather thick stalks. I usually put it in a saucepan and boil it but done this way it keeps its shape. I added a couple of tablespoons of water, the zest and juice of one orange and the covered it in foil. The flavour is lovely. We had it with low fat yoghurt. Ice cream would be even better!

New cardigan

Grace is happy. She has a new cardi

Luckily the weather is warming up so she can wear it.
