it seemed during the week as though spring might really be here, the daffodils had suddenly appeared and in flower too

And the birds' favourite bush has its little white flowers. However it has turned windy, an icy blast, that cut through me as put out the washing. Snow seems to be forecast for Monday night! It seems that March might be going out like a lion. We alter the clocks tonight. It is not my favourite time of the year. The headaches have began even though the trees are not in leaf yet. Its all down hill until Autumn. I heard in the week that there might be discussions about keeping BST and then going forward another hour in the summer. I do not like that idea at all. Seems it is favoured in London to keep us in time with Europe for business reasons. The further north you go the longer it would be darker in winter.

I am paying an unexpected visit to the dentist this week. While eating a cereal bar, a piece fell off a back tooth last Sunday. So that means another crown and an expense I could do without.
My mac has had a hissy fit this week. Funny bleeps and a message to close it down. Then the next day all the applications kept quitting. John did various things late last night and it has been ok today so far.
The third jumper is being modelled by Gulliver and he is so proud of it

It was my last week at one of my schools this week. I have been there since October and thoroughly enjoyed the individual tuition I did there. I have a few sessions at another school after Easter then it looks as if it will be back to the dreaded daily supply. I am trying not to think about it yet. I am going t enjoy my Easter break and try and get my act together with some sewing. John suggested i make a summer version of the Mother Nature Tree doll. (Scroll down)
and my sister has requested a spring hanging like this
(Scroll down)It was a one of a kind but I expect I can do something similar

A busy weekend and Haydn remembered

Last weekend was really busy. My first one since the Saturday tutoring finished. I went shopping in the morning and bought a few bits including a new pair of trousers and a stripey top from M&S. The trousers are similar to the pair I live when I go out. So they are a replacement really because the originals are looking a bit faded. I also bought some Easter craft things and three balls of knitting yarn for bear jumpers.

In the afternoon we went to Bradford City football ground but sat in the away end to support Aldershot. No photos as it wasn't allowed I realised that I have been up here as long as I lived in Aldershot now! Where does the time go? It was a good match but Bradford won. After a very scrummy chicken meal we went off to St George's Hall to a classical concert.

The next day Mothering Sunday but I still had ironing to do. Libby came for lunch and tea bringing very exciting gifts

Tia wanted to eat the flowers for some reason. The bunny is really an Easter Bunny but as I had him now I did not have t wait for the chocolates inside!

Wednesday was a sad day as we remembered Haydn, it is six years since he died.

I had good feed back from the Saturday tutoring which pleased me. Although it was a hassle giving up a Saturday morning it was worth it.

We had some warm weather in the week and spring was on the way

Today is pouring with rain!!
The latest jumper has been held up because Tia wont let me get on in the evening. She wants to sit on my lap and nudge everything.

Could it be Magic?

Yes it is. This is Magic. He does not belong to us. But over the years he has spent quite a bit of time with us.

Magic is about 12 years old now (with a few grey hairs) and spent the first couple of weeks after leaving his litter family with a neighbour who had toddlers. Life was somewhat traumatic there so another neighbour took him in. Magic has never been a cuddly cat. He lulls you into thinking he is and then all of a sudden will lash out with a clawed paw. We came to know him very well because we would feed him when his new owners were and holiday and they would reciprocate. But Magic is own man. ( Or Tom or neutered Tom you get my drift?) and was never a home cat really. I used to make him stay in at night when we were looking after him but really he preferred to be out. During the day, when we were home, especially when it was raining he would curl up on our settee. Magic however is not particularly loyal, a match for Six Dinner Sid
finding food in different places. Over the years he spent less time in his home and when a new dog arrived he finally decided enough was enough. He now resides with a very nice older couple across the road who spoil him with a diet of chicken pieces. he makes as laugh as he follows his new man around like a puppy. He still comes to see us though and can been seen here sitting in the warming March sun on top of our vacant rabbit hutch. Long may he do so.

The second jumper is finally finished. I say finally because the back went walk-about It was behind the settee.

Excuse the side on picture I rotated it but it does not seem to want to comply. It is being modelled here by Cranberry who lives here upstairs normally but she has now decided to sit downstairs for a while

and of course the sweater is now hers. I am now onto jumper number three which I think is the size that will fit a bigger selection of bears. I still need to find a pattern for my very small under ten inch bears.

There has been activity in the garden. A male blackbird has been feasting on dried meal worms and live things he has found rummaging about. He is not our regular one with the damaged foot though. I have not seen him since the end of the snowy weather so I am a bit concerned. The blue tits are back and mainly use the front feeders although one was seen in the caged feeder during the week. There are more and more crocuses coming through and John has seed trays with sproutings. He spent time during the week at the allotment but it is slow going.

This week end is Mothering Sunday I blogged about it last year.

Its going to be a busy weekend. I finished Saturday tutoring last week so my day is my own.

Thursday was party day for Moriarty Chien. Biddle had me making paper hats.

Mori was born in 1982 so he is one of the mature chaps living here.

Well that is it for today .

jumper, spring?

Thank you for all the comments last time. I agree with those who thought one of the great benefits of blogging is the new friendships that are made.

The jumper is finished. I am pleased with it but the yarn was awful, kept going thin and I had to break off and start again.

I have started the next one in a smaller size and in three colours. Again I am not sure which bear will wear it.

There are hints of spring in the garden I suddenly noticed these little treasure. The look more yellow than the photo shows.

Despite those little hints of spring and a temperature of 8 on Monday overall it is still cold for the time of year and on Tuesday morning we had another dusting of snow. Where the sun had not penetrated it was still there a couple of days later. In February our highest temperature was 5 and the lowest -3 factoring in wind chill meant it felt much colder. So March has come in like a lamb this year will it go out like a lion?

I am plodding on with the owl, I think you can just about see a wing now! Its going very slowly partly because I am working and partly because the chart is difficult to see.

This is my last weekend tutoring. I have enjoyed it but it has dragged out over too many weeks due to holidays and the bad weather. It will great to have my Saturdays back.

Thanks if you dropped by
