Happy blogoversary

I can't believe I started doing this in November 2006. I have been looking back and the amount I post has depended on how much work I get. And of course this term there has been more blogging than
work. It has picked up this week though so I am pleased about that.

All my making has been secret again so no new ones to show. I missed going to Harrogate on Saturday but did have chance to catch up with a friend who was back in town this week end.

It has been cold here but the snow completely missed us as usual. If hadn't been for the fact that the first two years we got loads I would think Bradford never got more than an icing sugar covering.
I did see a lovely sunset last Friday though. The photo doesn't really do it justice

The effect between the two blocks of housing was really stunning and there was much more purple than shows up here.
Thank you again for the comments

I've been tagged...

by Terri

to share some information about myself here are the rules

Rule #1 ~ Link to the person that tagged you.
Rule #2 ~ Post the rules on your Blog.
Rule #3 ~ Write 6 random things about yourself.
Rule #4 ~ Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
Rule #5 ~ Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their Blog.
Rule #6 ~ Let the tagger know your entry is up.

So here are the six things about me:

1. I am left handed for most things but sew and cut out right handed.
2. I get stressed when drawers and cupboards are left a little bit open.
3. I am happy at home most of the time by myself.
4. I take a long time to make decisions but then want to act immediately.
5. I find reading large numbers difficult.
6. I enjoy ironing!

Now who to tag. I am going to opt out here most people I know have been tagged recently but if you fancy doing it let me know.

I have had a busy week but can't show anything because its all a secret. So there will be a big show after Christmas. I have even managed to wrap up some gifts and make some cards.
So what do I show when there is nothing new to show?

Things that give me a buzz

I love all the colours and different textures of the materials I use.

It's almost two years since I did my first blog and have been able to post more the last few months due to having very little work. The work situation is not improving and I will have to make some serious decisions soon. I have half a day to tomorrow and a day next week. I nearly had work on Tuesday but the school did not need anyone after all.

So I spend far too much of my day on the mac, reading blogs and posting on
facebook

But also doing what I love most making things.

its Wednesday again...

...no work this Wednesday. But a phone call and some pre booked work for 2 1/2 days and one whole. The first pre-booked work this term. Even the agency admitted it is quiet.
I had forgotten all about this little chap I finished stitching in the summer. I will not be going to Harrogate this November. Cannot really justify buying stash when I haven't earned much. So I have finished him like this instead of buying a frame. The fabric I bought at the Harrogate show several years ago.

The back looks like this

I have been busy this week with secret stitching and catching up on a few things. I have also made a couple of Christmas cards.

Tia had a mishap the other night. I wont go into details except to say it involved a litter tray she didn't realise was clean, a load of extra washing, a duvet dumped in the wheelie bin. Oh and John and I sleeping one night on the sofa bed. I blamed my self for being tardy with emptying the tray. I think she has forgiven me.

I am sitting up here with the sun coming through the window which is a welcome sight after the rain and wind of the last couple of days.

Most of what I make nowadays is for pleasure but the most useful item I have made for years are these

I posted about them in January 2007 but didn't realise then how warm and wonderful they would prove to be. Although they don't covered the fingers it is amazing how warm my hands keep by having warm wrists. I live in them and I must make some more.

Twelve more days to my blogversary I can't believe I started this two years ago.

Once again many thanks if you leave a message.

Busy.busy, busy...

...its been a busy week so far. Monday I had the trauma of signing on. More forms to fill in for my one day's work before half term. But I shall keep on because I get my NI stamp paid for weeks I don't work.
On Tuesday I got loads done at home and took photographs. Winchester is the proud owner of a new jumper.

I have made several jumpers using this pattern. The original is in rugby stripes but all but one I have made in the same colour. And the cricket pattern is a different one altogether.

Biddle usually wears one for a while and then passes it on to someone else and eventually borrows it back again! I used to knit for children and grownups but my wrists are not what they were and I haven't got the patience to knit big garments.

I have finished Joy to the World

and found a backing fabric I thought would do.

Tacked it all on and then found something I think is so much better in my stock of fat quarters.

So I was already to do the finishing on Wednesday... but the phone rang and I had a day's work at a local school. It was a really good day, year 6 children and I taught without having stop to sort out behaviour. Such a treat.

Tia is exercising her right to climb.

I am home today and will catch up on what did not get done yesterday. Thank to all of you who post comments.

Update Friday: its all finished I am really pleased with the result.
